Masher of the Month – May 2010

July 1st, 2010   By   Filed Under: Masher of the Month

We have decided that it isn’t enough to reward our Masher of the Month with the ‘celebrity status’ our blog and facebook give as well as the £100 shopping vouchers…..our new promise to our TOP Monthly Mashers is that they will be our FIRST PORT OF CALL FOR EVERY JOB  in their area for a whole month. They obviously won’t always be free but we want to recognise their outstanding performance by giving them the first opportunity of work for a 1 month period.

First up to walk the Mashing walk of fame….

rachel-walker

Rachel Walker joined Mash back in October 2007 and has gone on to deliver campaign after campaign with consummate professionalism and a wonderful smile on the face. Rachel always responds brilliantly to the huge variety of briefs thrown at her and has often accepted ‘last minute changes’ with complete flexibility and positivity.

Rachel is also one of our main ‘npower girls’ and has contributed to the ‘best team yet’ and we’re all looking forward to the remaining 4 Tests from the end of July.

Masher of the Month – April 2010

May 25th, 2010   By   Filed Under: Masher of the Month

Congratulations to Emma Fletcher – our latest Masher of the Month. Hailing all the way from Oz and bringing true commitment and spirit to every job she does for us – both here in the office and out in the field.

medium_emma_fletcher

We caught up with Emma shortly after she received the fantastic news…

Why do you work for Mash and what do you love about it?

MASH have such a passionate and committed staff in-field and in the office what’s not to love?? The MASH staff are always motivated, ready to have fun and work hard to make sure the consumer is receiving a positive brand experience. Bring on the Summer events!!!

“I’m not a politician but if I was”….. I would invite all the other politicians over to my place for a big BBQ, some backyard cricket and chill out time. I would also love a few cheeky wines with the Queen to discuss fashion, ‘Blair or Serena??’ and the antics of John Terry and all other celebrity scandals in London.

“You know me as a Masher but in another life I would have been”…. a pro surfer – travel the world and follow the sun!

Great stuff Emma – you are a pleasure to work with and we look forward to getting you on plenty of fun summer campaigns.

March 2010 :: Masher of the Month

April 8th, 2010   By   Filed Under: Masher of the Month

Our March Masher of the Month is the wonderful Andrew Morton.

Andy, Drew – he has many names but his reputation is one of a fantastic Masher who treats every job (regardless of profile) with the same professional diligence and smile on his face.

We spoke to Andrew just after the award was announced…

“Thats awesome! Thanks, I’m just happy to be working, I only work with Mash for promotions, so its awesome to have all this work to do. Anytime :)

And in true Masher of the Month style, had a few questions to ask the famous one….

You know me as a Masher but in another life I would have been…

“A comedian, I can’t tell a joke and I’m disgustingly unfunny. Yeah a comedian professional downhill skier for sure!”

I’m not a politician but if I was…

“I would definatly have some kind of a scandal, as my life would be so boring without it.”

In a nutshell my philosophy is…

“Not to have a plan, and always be do things that you love. Karma will always help you out in the end! (Or your parents)”

Cheers Andrew – watch this space for the April Masher of the Month

Masher of the Month :: December

Peter hails from the Southampton area but his enthusiasm for the job and indeed for Mash spreads far and wide.

A real professional who works with a smile on his face and an attitude that really brings the best out of others.

peter_mols_southampton

Peter has been with Mash just under a year but in that time has received fantastic feedback throughout his Mash work and in particular for his work in the NHS Choices and Malibu campaigns.

Peter’s passion for all things Mash and his complete professionalism have led to him being recruited as our South Coast Brand Champion so look out for interview dates in the South Coast area soon.

Our Masher of the Month’s also take part in our new charitable initiative we are running here at MASH. For each every job that we win, we are going to be providing an interest free loan to an entrepreneur in need, on our client’s behalf. The way it works is that we provide an interest free loan of $50 to a low-income entrepreneur somewhere in the world, through our friends over at KIVA. You (the Masher of the Month ) choose who to lend to – whether a baker in Afghanistan, a goat herder in Uganda, a farmer in Peru, a restaurateur in Cambodia, or a tailor in Iraq, and WE provide the loan.

It’s a powerful and sustainable way to empower someone right now to lift themselves out of poverty.

Here’s Pete’s response to the great news…

“Hi Guys,

Thanks so much for making me Masher of the month, it was a lovely surprise.

Big thanks to Andrew, he’s been a great guy to work for on Malibu. Always friendly supportive and understanding, just what an EM needs when their out in the field.

After much deliberation, I’ve decided that Bose Patrick, the nice lady who sells gin in Nigeria should get our money. It seems only right that the gin should flow, while I celebrate.

Masher of the Month :: November

Ali Ali joined Mash in August 2008 and quickly became a consistently top performer in his first ever year in the field. Highlights include:

o Top performer on Thorntons Sept ’08

o Stepped in last minute and travelled all the way to Kent as last minute replacement for Maddie on Virgin trains

o Didn’t make a fuss when we asked him to dress up in some ridiculous costumes.

o Received the following feedback on his first job in a supervisory role (Aviva): “Many thanks for the merchandising staff you supplied for Crystal Palace – all were fantastic but especially the supervisor Ali Ali. I was very busy running around the large stadium, and Ali kept everyone fully informed and under control – a real credit to your agency!”

o Dressed up as Rochdale FC’s mascot Desmond the Dragon

Masher of the Month :: October 2009

November 3rd, 2009   By   Filed Under: Masher of the Month

Is none other than the mighty Paul Hanson a.k.a. Frog.

Frog has delivered to the highest level all year round and consistently goes that extra mile for us. Not least when recently he stepped in last minute to help avert a bit of a van and stock crisis at some very unsociable hour on the M6.

It really is appreciated by us all here at Mash and this award is in recognition of someone who truly appreciates the teamwork and partnership focus we need throughout our campaigns.

Frog informs us that he has already started work on building a trophy cabinet.

We love a confident Masher…

Masher of the Month :: September 2009

Congratulations to Vicky Parkinson who has consistently impressed everyone at Mash Towers and team-mates and clients alike through her continued dedication and positive attitude.

n510517955_4149

When interviewed at a top-secret Sheffield hotel, Vicky gave us the following response…”Thats fantastic news! Eeek Im’ so excited and it is so nice to be rewarded for my efforts, thanks to all the team!”

…and in response to our seasoned questions put to our top Mashers…

You know me as a Masher but in another life I would have been….. a sportsperson, I love sport, so it would have to be a sky sports news reporter, a professional golfer, playing centre midfield for Sheffield United (!?!) or a super hero, banana man was always my favourite.

Im not a politician but if I was….there are far too any things to comment on! Well, I would scrap higher education fees, lower the price of petrol, introduce more sport into schools, scrap the obvious taxes, grant everyone 3 genie-esque wishes and many other controversial things!

In a nutshell,my philosophy is….”The world always look brighter from behind a smile!”

With regard to work – “Today, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine he sees all day and of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important.”
